Comparison of success rates of probing surgery in congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction by age range

Purpose: To evaluate the effectiveness of probing surgery in patients with congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction (CNLDO) according to application time and age groups.
 Materials Methods: In this retrospective study, CNLDO who were followed up at Cukurova University Faculty Medicine between 2012 2022 evaluated. One hundred thirteen eyes 90 included study. The fluorescein dye disappearance test was used diagnosis treatment success. demographic characteristics success surgeries recorded. 
 Results: Considering first surgical time, our rates groups as follows: 0-12 months (n=10) 100%, 12-18 (n=29) 86.2%, 18-24 (n=24) 87.5%, 24-36 79.2%, 36-48 (n=14) 57.1%, 66.7% aged 48 older (n=12). When entire patient group evaluated regarding before after 2 years, rate 88.9% younger than 24 (n=63), 70% (n=50). Conclusion: most successful ranges for found months, months.
